The pandemic has already reshaped the landscape in the short term as a health crisis. It has and will continue to reshape the landscape in the longer term. A serious economic crisis may carry on for what could be years, or even a decade. With the many job losses, we thought it would be a good time to talk about one of the key components of getting started on the path to financial independence: earning income. Earning income can come in many different forms. What employers needed yesterday is going to be different from what they need today. What employers need today will be different from what they will need in the future.
THE JOB MARKET HAS CHANGED
The job market has become and will continue to be an employer’s market for the coming years. There will be much more competition for every job opening than many job seekers are currently accustomed to. This is a sharp contrast to what we had experienced back in February of 2020. At that time, it was fairly easy to find or change jobs and command a high salary.
WE HAVE BEEN PROPELLED 10 YEARS INTO THE FUTURE
The reality is that it will be increasingly more competitive. On the other hand, employers are and will still be looking for great people. There are still skills that are of high demand, and people will continue to start new companies that need talent. We firmly believe that there are a ton of positives to come from all these changes. The push to the future that was caused by the Coronavirus has changed business to business, business to consumer, customer behavior, and every sector across the globe. This push to the future can and will be a good thing with the right mindset, openness to change, willingness to learn, and strong determination.
